Don't Starve Together is a standalone add-on to the game of the same name, played in multiplayer. Here, players enter a randomly generated world where they must gather resources and craft necessary items. The key is not only to prevent the character from starving to death but also to provide them with everything they need to survive. The player starts with a ward, who begins without any items or weapons. Here, the protagonist is met by the mysterious Maxwell, whose goals become clear as the game progresses. It's important to quickly gather all possible resources to be prepared for a nighttime defense against monsters capable of killing the player. After finding grass, tree branches, and stones, the player crafts essential tools, such as a shovel, pickaxe, and hatchet. Lighting a fire will help the player survive the first night, after which an autosave occurs, and upon death, the player must restart. The player monitors the ward's three stats—satiety, health, and sanity—to ensure they don't drop to 0. The protagonist explores the environment during the day and must be prepared for enemy attacks at night. Along the way, the player collects objects from which they craft useful items. The survival simulator features numerous new features that are only unlocked in multiplayer mode.
